What's Coming Up

These are some of the shows we're working on:

  1. Crafting a Living
We honor people who craft a living from raw materials and found objects. In this show, we meet three... Ashley Delonas uses her hunting skills to track down antler sheds for her unique creations. The abandoned crowns from moose, elk and deer find new life within her hands as she builds a story with crystals and stained glass between the tines of bone. Cary Schwarz built his first custom saddle by the time he was just 19, and today his hand-crafted saddles are widely revered for their durability and intricate artistic designs. Bill Burke forges various steel alloys to create knives that are remarkably strong and beautiful. The process is known as Damascus, named after the ancient city of Syria where the art was practiced centuries ago. Show airs July 25th.
  2. Living With Wildfire
It's a fact of life, both in the mountains and on the prairie. How are we adjusting, as wildfires seem to be bigger, hotter, and more numerous? Airs October, 2019.
  3. A State of Change
The changes in Idaho in the past three decades have been astounding, affecting just about everything, from cities and towns to public lands and wildlife. A population explosion that is trending older, climate variability, new industries -- we'll examine some of the changes that are occurring, as well as the powerful reasons for optimism, in the nation's 43rd state, a State of Change. An hour long. Airs December, 2019.
  4. Sawtooths on My Mind
We explore how individuals have been affected by Idaho's most popular Wilderness, using personal testimonials. An hour long. Airs March, 2020.
  5. Trailblazers
Long gone are the days of the CCC, the army of laborers shipped around the country during the Great Depression as our nation's work relief program. The government paid them to build trails, parks and recreation areas that we still use today. The budget for all that labor is also long gone. As federal dollars shrink, the maintenance backlog on public land grows. Now Idahoans who value natural resources are filling the gap by maintaining trail for free. Outdoor Idaho introduces you to the people who work for your play. They are this century’s CCC. We call them Trailblazers. Airs May, 2020.
